In sickness and health - family drama

September has been a hectic month. We had an anxious time when our 7-year-oldĀ  grand-daughter Kirstie was rushed to hospital in Aberdeen with symptoms which the local doctor did not like, and there she was diagnosed with A1 Diabetes. Extensive tests revealed no early damage to her system, and she was soon on a planned introduction to insulin injections twice a day; parents, close relatives and adults responsible for her at school and organisation all were given a briefing by experts on what to watch out for and what to do if insulin shock ocurred.
A week later, we were at Glasgow for a family wedding, and Kirsty was there with her parents and younger sister, lively as ever! I was slightly unwell, and had symptoms I was unhappy with, so once home I contacted the doctor. He agreed that tests were required, did some which were clear, then decided that a whole battery of further tests were needed at Inverness, so that is where I shall be on 1st October. Hopefully I will be pronounced fit and well, with just another sign of aging catching up with me....

November - after a whole series of tests, some of them uncomfortable, medical pronouncements are that my health is fine - no problems found!
