Sheriff Court of Fife held at the burgh of Cupar before the worthy noble, John, Master of Lindsay of Pitcrovie, Sheriff of Fife; and David Sibbald of Letham, his depute. Day fourth, month September, year of our Lord Mo Vc Xvto (1515).

The which day, in the action and cause(case) pursued by Mr. Alexander Colville, parson of Dysart, against dame Margaret, lady Sinclair, John Sinclair, David Melville, John Inglis, William Kirk (Kirkye), Robert Clerk, and Thomas Murray, touching the alleged wrongly depriving from him and his factors and fermouraris (tenants) of the fruits and offerings and duties of his benefice and parsonage of the kirk of Dysart, as at more length is contained in our sovereign lord's letters and precept of summons, direct and past, thereupon. The said Mr. Alexander compearing (attending/appearing before the court) personally and the said lady by her procurator (representative) William Clerk, they being lawfully thereto of, before Mr. James Simpson, etc. prelocutor (spokesman) for the said Mr. Alexander [who] alleged that he was robbed/deprived, by the said persons, of his fruits, offerings and duties of his said benefice and kirk, and for the probation of his intent [intent to prove] thereof, produced certain witnesses who were lawfully summoned thereto.

(this long argument ends with judgement being given to Mr. Alexander (Revd. Alexander Colville.)

Member of the Society of Writers to the Signet:Alisone, Alexander, of Birkhill. Date of admission: 15 June 1698.

Apprentice to John Strachan; son of Alexander Alisone of Birkhill, Fife; Married (1) Mary Smyth; (2) Janet, daughter of William Dick of Grange, and relict of Mungo carnegie, advocate; and (3) Mary Gray, relict of John Gordon, younger of Edinglassie. Died September 1728.

At Kirkwall, 23 November 1613: Agnes Mirreman, wife of Henrie Bakie in Tronstein, parish of North Sandwick, died February 1595 [or possibly February 1596 by modern reckoning]; [entered] by said Henrie in name of Jon, Marioun and Katherene Bakies, her lawful children, executors dative by decreet of 19 November instant. [Includes an inventory, listof debts owing by the deceased; three executors confirmed; John Sampsone in Skabra in North Sandwick enacted cautioner.

Precept on assedation by Walter, Abbot of Kinloss, to Andrew Paton and Agnes Langmuir, his spouse, and their heirs-male, in the lands of Burroleyis and Corbe Craig, for the space of 19 years. Dated at Kinloss, 1 October 1559.

And:
Precept by Walter, Abbot of Kinloss, and Convent thereof, for infefting Sir John Anderson, and Jonet Gibson, his spouse, and their heirs-male, in the lands of Struderis, etc. Dated at Kinloss 10 April 1565.

10 May 1546. Instrument done at the instance of Arthur McClurg narrating that Dougal McCrynnill acknowledged to have received from Janet McClurg £5 Scots in complete payment of £39 in part payment of a larger sum promised to him as dowry by a marriage contract between him and Janet Colvill, daughter of said Janet McClurg. Done at the houses of Ballochtowle at about 1 p.m.  Witnesses: John Lyill elder, John Lyill younger, and John Fergussoun.

In 1296, Coldstream Priory sent a claim to the king for damages done to Coldstream Priory through the "coming" of king Edward. The list of damages -  beasts, crops (including an orchard), houses and equipment, came to a total of over 117 pounds. In response, sir Hugh Cressingham, Treasurer of Scotland, arranged for the abbey to get 700 sheep and 16 oxen from Atholl, coming via the Sheriff there, Sir Robert Cambron; and agreed to pay them a cash sum to complete the compensation.
